WE ARE OPEN TO EVERYONE

This is a safe for people of all races, backgrounds, religions, gender identity, and sexual orientations. I would like to address a few below to make sure that everyone feels safe and understood.

A NOTE TO BIPOC CLIENTS

I would like to address that I am coming to you as a white woman. I have experience and trainings so that I can be sensitive to your struggles and understand the unjust obstacles you face. I would love to serve you and support you on your journey. However, I do know the value of finding someone with shared experience to walk with you and support you. If you feel like you would prefer a BIPOC doula that has experience with grief and trauma, I would love to help. Please reach out and we can find the support that you need.

A NOTE TO LGBTQ+ CLIENTS

If you are LGBTQ+ please know that this is a safe space for you. And please know that I am coming to you as a heterosexual cis-gendered woman, so I know that there will be issues that I am ignorant about. I have gone through trainings and have worked hard to educate myself so that my words will not bring harm or cause pain. That being said, there may be times where I use the wrong pronoun or word or cause unintentional harm. It is something that I am actively working on. If you feel like you would prefer a LGBT+ doula that shares your life experience, I would love to help. Please reach out and we can find the support that you need.

A NOTE FOR THOSE WITH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DISABILITIES

Please know that this is a safe space for you. I have been seeking out trainings and am actively working on educating myself to assist birthing persons with disabilities. This is an area that I do not have a lot of experience in, but if you come to me seeking help I will actively research ways to help and what resources you need. Your specific needs are important, and you deserve to have those needs met in your birthing space. However, I know that I have short-comings in this area and am lacking in personal experience. If you would prefer a doula who is disabled or who specializes in disabilities, please reach out and I'd be happy to help you find the support you need.

A NOTE TO CLIENTS OF ALL FAITH AND CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS

I would like to address that I am a Christian and have gone through training as a Christian minister. I have also gone through training as a Chaplain and have studied world religions. I would like to say that this is a safe space for peoples of all religions, faith backgrounds, and beliefs. As a Christian minister, I can provide pastoral support and guidance if that is desired from my Christian clients. If you come from a different faith or culture, I will make sure that your beliefs and traditions are being honored and respected in the birthing space and during funerals and memorials. I will work with you and your faith and community leaders to make sure that your spiritual needs are being met.

That being said, if you would like to find a doula or support person who shares your faith or beliefs, please reach out. I would be happy to help you find the support you need.
